The front of the coin bears an uncrowned portrait of King Edward VII right, with the legend around reading "EDWARDVS VII DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP" (translated: "Edward the Seventh by the Grace of God King of all the Britains Defender of the Faith Emperor of India").
